This recreation site was constructed in 1934 by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps). Both the picnic tables and the stonewalls have deep crimson jasper interspersed with common fieldstone. Large juniper and sycamore trees provide shade. Cave Creek Group Site has a game area for volleyball and horseshoes. Large campfire area.

Directions
The site is 21 miles north of Carefree. From Carefree, take Cave Creek Road/Forest Road (FR) 24 to Seven Springs Day-use Area. Continue for less than ½ mile to the turn-off to the Group Site. The last 9 miles of FR 24 is an all-weather gravel road that is narrow with blind curves.
