Many museums are sort of Western; this museum is the definition of Western. The art gallery displays over 400 works by famous western artists and the Hays 'Spirit of the Cowboy' collection is an excellent and eclectic gathering of everything from chaps and spurs to pottery and copper ore, all authentic.
