Within Grand Canyon National Park, bicycles are allowed only on those roads open to automobile traffic -- there is no off-road mountain biking allowed. Use caution when riding on park roads as shoulders are narrow and vehicle traffic is heavy.

On the South Rim a new Greenway trail for both bicyclists and pedestrians leads from Canyon View Information Plaza to Grand Canyon Village near the train depot. A bicycle trail from Canyon View Information Plaza to Tusayan was also recently opened. Hermit Road is open to bicycles throughout the year, but during the summer months there is heavy bus traffic on this road.
