Hart Prairie Preserve - The Nature Conservancy

At the foot of the San Francisco Peaks, enjoy the rustic comforts of hand-hewn log cabins in the midst of cool aspen groves. Surrounded by thousands of acres of forest and meadows, the Hart Prairie Preserve is home to uncommon wildflowers, old growth ponderosa pine, a rare grove of willows, herds of elk and deer, porcupine, prairie dogs, and more than 40 species of birds.

Six buildings at the preserve, including the Lodge, are on the National Registry of Historic Places.

The cabins are available for rent from approximately June 1 to October 15, or until the first heavy frost.
