The Rim Country Museum is quaintly set in the award winning Green Valley Park in Payson, Arizona. The museum is comprised of several historical buildings and objects of local significance. A nearby lake and full foliage trees offer our visitors a refreshing coolness in the summer and a crystalline landscape in winter. When you walk into the museum you are stepping into time past. The entrance was the Forest Ranger's residence originally built in 1907.
The exhibit hall is a replica of the two story 'Herron Hotel' known as the 'Hilton of Payson' in the early 1900's. Additionally, the museum has a circa 1900 Haught cabin that was painstakingly moved to the grounds. Also on the grounds is the top portion of the Forest Service fire lookout tower that was orginally located on Mt. Ord. Included in the price of admission is a tour of a replica of Zane Grey's 1920 cabin.
