Verde Valley - Fishing

Motel 6 Arizona

Below is a list of rivers, lakes and reservoirs in the Verde Valley area that are good for fishing. Click on any name for more information.

Goldwater Lake
Goldwater Lake, south of Prescott off Senator Highway (Mt. Vernon in town), has a trail circling it and plenty of picnic sites. The lake has a $2.00 parking fee. The lake also offers boat rentals and fishing. Managed by the city of Prescott.

Stoneman Lake Lake Size:  120 acres
This medium-sized body of water, surrounded by Gambel oak and ponderosa pine covered basalt slopes, provides good fishing for northern pike and yellow perch. It is also an excellent place to bird watch during the yearly waterfowl migrations, or all summer long for songbirds.

Verde River
The Verde River is one of Arizona’s major perennial rivers and a treasured resource in the central part of the state. Free flowing for most of its length, it provides lush riparian habitat, abundant wildlife, diverse recreational opportunities, and spectacular scenery.

Watson Lake
Watson Lake, known as a "mini Lake Powell," is a great spot for kayaking, sailing and sailboarding, cliff jumping, fishing and daydreaming.
