  • Bretton Woods

Bretton Woods is a resort area in Carroll, New Hampshire that is encircled by the White Mountains and the Pemigewasset Wilderness. The area has two points of interest: Mount Washington Hotel, which opened in 1902, arousing the interest of tourism to the area; and Mount Washington Cog Railway, a train that climbs the mountain on a scenic trip to heaven. Bretton Woods, also known as Twin Mountains, explodes with year-round activity. The cool, clear waters of the Ammonoosuc River entice swimmers and anglers to its shores for summertime pleasures. Skiing is the most popular winter sport in the area.

  • Jackson

In 1821, the legislature established Jackson as the capital of Mississippi. The town was was burned on three occasions during the Civil War but remarkably the gorgeous, massive Governor's Mansion survived. Today, jackson is bursting with marvelous museums, superb shopping, excellent eateries, down-home blues, and a massive quantity of history. One of Jackson's most unique features is the Mississippi Petrified Forest. Petrified logs, some 6 feet in diameter, were deposited in the area by a prehistoric river.

  • Laconia / Lake Winnipesaukee

Lake Winnipesaukee, largest lake in New Hampshire and beautiful beach resort, has 283 miles of shoreline and serves as a summer playground for young and old. This glittering mountain lake stretches for 28 miles across New Hampshire's countryside and is freckled with 274 miniature islands. Majestic mountains stand proudly over the lake with the white cap of Mount Washington peeking out in the distance.

  • Lincoln

The small town of Lincoln is steeped in wild west history, its colorful past painted by the Apache Indians and characters such as Billy the Kidd and Kit Carson. Interestingly enough, the town of Lincoln has shunned the plastico fast food and motel franchises that have sprung up almost everywhere else in New Mexico and visitors will find only locally owned dining and accommodation options are available here. In addition to Lincoln's history and heritage, the rolling grasslands and foothills of the Sierra Blanca Mountains incorporated in the Fort Stanton Recreation area spread to the west of town, offering visitors to this area a good variety of recreational opportunity.

  • North Conway

North Conway rests in the arms of Mount Washington Valley in the rugged New Hampshire countryside. Over the years, it has been the model for landscape paintings and the focus of year-round tourism. This snappy New England village is sparked with outdoor activities, heart-throbbing beauty, delicious dining, and plenty of fun shops.

  • Payson

Payson, Arizona is a pretty tourist town at the base of the Mogollon Rim in Central Arizona. It is nicely situated between cooler mountain climes to the north and rugged desert to the south.

Safford (pop 14,000) is a medium-sized town in southeastern Arizona. It serves as a nice base for exploring Mt. Graham in the Pinaleno Mountain range southwest of town. Mt. Graham is the third highest mountain in Arizona with a peak reaching 10,720 feet.

Situated atop the Mogollon Rim in Eastern Arizona, Show Low is a pleasant mountain town surrounded by national forests. It offers plenty of heavily wooded camping areas, cabins, and fishing lakes.
