Description

The rugged, boulder strewn cliffs of the 9,000 acre Granite Mountain Wilderness provide a scenic setting for this area among ponderosa pines.

Granite Basin Lake is man-made and about 5 surface acres. It is not stocked with fish. Although fishing is usually rated as only fair to poor, the patient angler can often catch bluegill, largemouth bass, or catfish. A State of Arizona fishing license is required for anglers over the age of 13 years. Boats powered by electric motors and oars/paddles are allowed. Swimming is not permitted.

Central ArizonaPrescott is a destination that transcends the Arizona archetype. No sweltering summers or miles of cactus covered moonscape. The town’s mile-high location in the Grand Canyon State’s central highlands brings four mild seasons, an average annual daytime temperature of about seventy degrees, and over 300 days of sunshine.
