Description
Keenes Trail and the nearby horsecamp were named after Keenes Meade, a Forest Service mule packer. The trail begins in the Keenes Horse Camp and provides access to Trails No. 115, No. 116 and Horseshoe Lake. Horses and mules now share the heavily used route with hikers and bicycles as they pass through semiopen forests and meadows. Features include 24-acre Horseshoe Lake, which is 1.2 mile from the horse camp. Trail No. 120A provides a direct route from Keenes Horse Camp to Green Mountain Trail No. 110.
