This trail connects the Sixshooter National Recreation Trail 197 and the Pineline Trail 193. It provides a connection between the trails on the north side of Pinal and those on the south. From a small parking spur on Forest Road (FR) 651C (.3 mile east of the turnoff to Ferndell Trailhead) the trail goes west following the driveway of a burned-out recreation residence until just beyond the intersection with the Sixshooter National Recreation Trail 197. It continues generally west becoming a constructed footpath. Near its midpoint it crosses the FR 651 at the ruins of the Girl Scout Camp, then continues west and connects with the Pineline Trail.
