Description

Rainbow is the largest campground in the Big Lake complex and is a favorite with families. Deer, skunks and bear are common campground visitors. A variety of hummingbirds make the campground their home amid the mixed conifer and aspen from June through September. A spur trail in loop D connects the campground with the Indian Springs hiking and biking trail. Nearby activities include picnicking, fishing, boating, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, bird watching and wildlife viewing. Be prepared for rain, often heavy through July and August. Because of the high elevation be prepared for cool night time temperatures. Tents, trailers and motorhomes up to 32 foot are allowed..
