The Walnut Canyon-Fisher Point Trail is one of the most spectacular in the Flagstaff area. The Fisher Towers trail is mostly double track beginner level road with very little elevation gain and loss making this segment perfect for beginner riders or those looking for a less grueling ride. Once the large face of Coconino sandstone that makes up the Fisher Towers is reached, riders who feel like continuing can kick it up a notch on the Walnut Canyon Trail, which climbs upward to the rim of the canyon. Otherwise the tower area offers excellent exploring opportunity, with several caves to explore on foot. Please be aware that no bikes are allowed in the inner Walnut Canyon area as this is a bird sanctuary and nesting area.

From the base of the Fisher Tower, take the tight, steep and winding trail up the canyon wall to the top of the canyon rim. A small side spur at this point brings riders to the Fisher Tower lookout. Riders can then continue back to the trail and head 12 miles to the Walnut Canyon National Monument Visitor Center. Views from the rim are striking along the way on the Walnut Canyon Trail and several ruins can be seen from afar. Technicality increases dramatically from the Fisher Towers trail, with steep uphills, technical downhills and fast single track, making this a paradise for intermediate to advanced level riders. A car-shuttle from Walnut Canyon visitor center completes the loop.
